The CALI grant allowed me to participate in the Stonewall National Education Project Symposium, which focuses on supporting LGBTQ youth. Through hosting a workshop I was able to hone my facilitation skills, and gain invaluable experience training educators on ways to leverage film for impact in schools. The other sessions I joined provided me with learnings on how to take intersectional approaches to my work, and I made connections with peers in the field that I would not have met otherwise. Thanks to this opportunity, I'm further invigorated to serve Frameline's mission of changing the world through the power of queer film.
