Marketing messaging is an essential element in your organization’s communications toolbox, but developing and using messages can seem overwhelming, especially for small and mid-sized organizations that may not have formal marketing departments. This session will start from the beginning by helping you to identify your communications goals and audiences, and then going step-by-step through the process of crafting effective messages and developing an action plan for infusing them into all of your organization’s communications.

 

We’ll tackle questions such as:

  • How is messaging connecting to branding, including mission and vision statements?
  • What makes an effective message?
  • How do you get started drafting a messaging platform and how much detail is enough?
  • How can you use messages across your organization, not just in formal marketing materials?
  • How can you train your staff, volunteers and Board of Directors to use messages in their day-to-day communications?
  • How do you know if your messages are working and how do you keep them updated?
