CCI - Social Media Strategies for Artists

In 2014 social media needs to be an element of every artist's toolkit for promotion and fundraising – but by golly, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out how to represent oneself on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr!

This session will not aim to convince you to use social media. Instead, it will help you formulate a strategy for building an interested online audience, capitalizing on sharable elements of your artistic process.

In this 3-hour session participants will:

  • Learn about examples of successful social media branding and promotional campaigns
  • Brainstorm and craft a content and engagement strategy
  • Learn about paid social media marketing strategies including Facebook ads, targeting, and how to gauge success
  • Know about tools and processes to grow a social media following

**It is recommended that all participants have a smartphone, tablet or laptop so as to best take advantage of the session, but it is NOT required.
